This Blog describes my first attempt at building a clay oven. I live in the UK and I thought I'd publish a Blog because clay oven info on the web seems to come mainly from the US (not that there's anything wrong with that - I've certainly found it useful). Anyway, take the plunge, build one yourself and I hope this blog helps in some small way. Cheers, Ian.

Why build a clay oven?
Well, this is a good question - and one I've asked myself several times during its construction- but essentially its good fun, a good work out, and a great way to make your own homemade pizza with friends and family.
This question was at the forefront of my mind when on completing it, the first few firings and bakings were a disaster. However, now I have the temperatures the oven was designed for and tasted that fresh crispy thin pizza, I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with it!
